U.S. v. Bishop, 05-1759

Conviction for possession of a firearm by a felon, and sentence as an armed career criminal, are affirmed where: 1) possession of a sawed-off shotgun is a "violent felony" for purposes of the Armed Career Criminal Act; 2) the court properly limited cross-examination of a government witness; and 3) there was no plain error in court's denial of a necessity instruction.
