United States First Circuit

US v. DENIS, 01-2544

Possession of firearms is active conduct, and a domestic assault conviction under Maine law was sufficient to alert defendant to the possible consequences of firearm possession, thus defendant's alleged ignorance of the relevant law is not an excuse for violating it.
