Rhode Islands rejected settlement statute, R.I. Gen. Laws section 27-7-2.2, expands insurance policy limits to include interest only when the insurer rejects a settlement offer, because treating the insurer and the insured as one entity does not advance the state policy of encouraging reasonable settlements.
