GROCCIA v. RENO, 00-1451

A resident alien who pled guilty to a felony prior to the effective date of the Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 is entitled to the savings clause of 8 USC 1182(c) only if he actually relied on that law when pleading guilty.
