Gonzalez v. City of Deerfield Beach, Florida, 0711280
In claim by current and former employees of defendant-city for unpaid overtime compensation pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), grant of summary judgment in favor of defendants is affirmed over claims that the district court erred by: 1) concluding that plaintiffs had the "responsibility to engage in fire suppression" within the meaning the FLSA, and thus that they were not entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA's ordinary overtime requirements; and 2) denying them leave to amend their complaint.
