Santamaria v. U.S. Attorney Gen., 06-16221

Denial of asylum application and order of removal are vacated where petitioner, a Colombian lawyer and political activist, suffered past persecution on account of her political opinion. Case is remanded and petitioner is entitled to the benefit of the rebuttable presumption that she has demonstrated a well-founded fear of future persecution.
