United States Eleventh Circuit
Powell v. Barrett, 05-16734
In putative class action filed by male former detainees at the Fulton County Jail regarding "blanket strip searches," partial grant of defendants' motion to dismiss is reversed in part as to: 1) the district court's dismissal of the strip search claims for monetary damages against defendant sheriff in her individual capacity; and 2) the denial of the county's and city's motions to dismiss the strip search claims. The case is remanded to dismiss the claims for monetary damages and injunctive relief against another sheriff in his individual capacity.
