United States Eleventh Circuit

Grupo Televisa, S.A. v. Telemundo Commc'ns Group, Inc., 05-16659

In dispute between Mexican radio and television production companies and a rival Spanish-language U.S. television company over a Mexican soap opera star who accepted employment at both companies, summary judgment for defendant based on application of Mexican law to claim alleging tortious interference with contract is vacated. The factors to be considered in determining whether Mexico or Florida has the "most significant relationship" to the parties and the conduct alleged in this case tip the scales decidedly in favor of Florida.
