Gomez-Diaz v. US, 04-11105

The rule that a lawyer who disregards instructions from his client to appeal has acted "in a manner that is professionally unreasonable" and creating a presumption of prejudice applies in a case where a defendant signs a limited waiver of his right to appeal his sentence as part of his plea agreement.
