United States Tenth Circuit
Adamson v. Multi Cmty. Diversified Servs., Inc., 05-3478
In a federal age and sex discrimination action against a non-profit corporate employer brought by plaintiffs-family members after they were simultaneously terminated from their employment by the corporation's board of directors, summary judgment for employer is affirmed, and the circuit court specifically rejects plaintiffs' assertion that "familial status" is a protected classification under Title VII. Thus, plaintiffs' claims that they were discriminated against because they were "husband, wife and daughter," were outside Title VII's scope.
