Deschenie v. Bd. of Educ. of Cent. Consol. Sch. Dist. No. 22, 05-2270

In a former employee's 42 U.S.C. section 1983 suit against a board of education and additional individuals alleging defendants took adverse employment actions against her in retaliation for engaging in speech protected by the First Amendment, summary judgment for defendants is affirmed where allegedly protected instances of plaintiff's speech involving bilingual education were not causally related to the adverse employment actions taken by the school board.
