Supreme Court of Texas
In re Allstate County Mut. Ins. Co. & Gonzales, 06-0878
In a suit alleging an insurer reneged on a $13,500 settlement offer, wherein the trial court refused to impose any limit on plaintiffs' 213 discovery requests, insurer's petition for mandamus relief is granted as the order compelling overly broad discovery unrelated to the scope of the parties' dispute was an abuse of discretion for which mandamus relief was warranted.
