Supreme Court of Texas
BELL v. LOW INCOME WOMEN OF TEXAS, 01-0061
Certain restrictions the state's Medicaid program places on abortion funding do not discriminate on the basis of sex and are rationally related to a legitimate governmental purpose, thus they do not violate the Equal Rights Amendment. The restrictions also violate neither the constitutional right to privacy nor the Equal Protection Clause.
