Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas

Castillo v. State of Texas, 75,246

A judgment and sentence of death in a capital murder case is affirmed over meritless claims of error that: 1) the evidence was insufficient to corroborate accomplice-witness testimony; 2) the evidence was factually insufficient to support a finding that he robbed the victim or that he shot the victim; 3) the death penalty is cruel and unusual punishment in violation of the Eighth Amendment; and 4) the trial court erred in denying a pretrial motion objecting to the testimony of two accomplice witnesses as their testimony violated the federal anti-bribery statute and state disciplinary rules.
