Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas

THOMPSON v. STATE OF TEXAS, 1833-02

When an appeals court had jurisdiction over one conviction of a two-count indictment, but had no jurisdiction over the second count as the defendant was never sentenced on that count, the court of appeals correctly dismissed the appeal on the second count while it addressed the merits of appellant's claims on the first count.
