Court of Criminal Appeals of Texas
BURNETT v. STATE OF TEXAS, 860-01
Although the failure to admonish defendant, as required by Code of Criminal Procedure article 26.13, regarding the punishment range for his offense was clearly error, the error was harmless, where nothing in the record supports an inference that: 1) he was unaware of the consequences of his plea; or, 2) the trial judge's failure to admonish defendant mislead him into pleading guilty because he did not know the applicable range of punishment.
