Misdemeanor conviction for possessing a gravity knife in violation of Penal Law section 265.01[1], after defendant waived prosecution by information, is affirmed where the accusatory instrument: 1) sufficiently alleged that defendant's knife automatically locked in place and opened with a centrifugal force; and 2) was jurisdictionally valid because the police officer sufficiently pleaded his basis for concluding that defendant's knife was an illegal gravity knife.
