Court of Appeals of New York

In re Alessandro, 126

In the court of appeals' review of the determinations of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct regarding two judges ordered removed by the commission, the order is affirmed in part where removal was the appropriate sanction for one judge because he was dishonest in his dealings regarding a loan he obtained for his judicial campaign. However, the order is modified in part where the appropriate sanction for the other judge was admonition because his sole offense was failure to fully disclose his liabilities in financial statements and there was no evidence that this nondisclosure was intentional.
