B.D.G.S., Inc. v. Balio, 177

Verdict against defendant bank, finding that it had not acted in accordance with reasonable commercial standards by accepting the checks for deposit, is affirmed as defendant's actions did not conform to reasonable commercial standards as a matter of law under Uniform Commercial Code section 3-419 (3) when it complied with restrictive endorsements on checks submitted for deposit. Defendant's liability is not limited to proceeds remaining in its possession.
