PEOPLE v. SLAVIN, 19
The admission of photographs of defendant's tattoos, as evidence of motive for committing a hate crime, did not violate his privilege against self-incrimination. Though the photographs were obtained by compulsion, defendant created the evidence of his own accord long before he committed the crime.
