Court of Appeals of New York

PEOPLE v. ALEXANDER, 4 No. 22

Withdraw an Alford plea will not be allowed where there was no indication that defendant was uninformed, confused or incompetent when he tendered the plea, and since an Alford plea involves pleading guilty without admitting culpability, out of fear of being convicted of a higher charge, it cannot be a basis for defendant to attack his plea.
