Karas v. Stevell, 104123, 104133cons.

In a suit arising from allegations that the plaintiff, a minor, was injured while playing in an organized ice hockey game when he was bodychecked from behind by two opposing players, the appellate court judgment which allowed the claims of willful and wanton conduct on the part of the player defendants, and negligence and civil conspiracy on the part of the organizational defendants, to go forward is reversed where plaintiff did not allege facts showing conduct totally outside the range of the ordinary activity associated with the sport. The portion of the judgment which dismissed the allegations of willful and wanton conduct against the organizational defendants is affirmed. The cause is remanded to allow the plaintiff to replead to allege facts meeting the standards announced by the court, if he is able to do so.
