Supreme Court of Illinois

Elementary Sch. Dist. 159 v. Schiller, 100947

In the matter of the detachment of 140 acres in an unincorporated area of Cook County from elementary and high school districts there and its annexation to the school districts of the Village of Frankfort, the order of detachment and annexation is confirmed where: 1) although the enactment in question applied only to this situation, this alone does not make it invalid as special legislation; and 2) there is only a single high school district for Frankfort, and, insofar as the statute has wording which seems to require a single district, the existence of that single high school district provides statutory compliance.
