Supreme Court of Illinois

People v. Hardin, 99696

In a postconviction petition asserting claims attacking the effectiveness of trial counsel, dismissal of the petition is affirmed where the circuit court had no duty to make an inquiry into whether postconviction counsel had a conflict of interest in challenging trial counsel's ineffectiveness under circumstances in which both worked for the same office, because defendant had not presented factual evidence showing a conflict.
