Supreme Court of Illinois
In re Christopher K., 98597
Juvenile conviction and adult sentence under extended jurisdiction juvenile (EJJ) prosecution upheld where: 1) the law-of-the-case doctrine does not bar the designation of a case as an EJJ prosecution after a motion for discretionary transfer has been affirmed on appeal; and 2) defendant did not unambiguously invoke his right to counsel when he asked investigators if he would need a lawyer.
