Supreme Court of Illinois

People v. Hart, 97958

Conviction for armed robbery is affirmed over claims that there had been improper use of statements made in plea negotiations and improper reference to defendant's post-arrest silence where: 1) an interrogating detective's testimony that defendant had asked "what he could get if he cooperated" was not a plea-related statement; and 2) any defect arising from the detective testifying that the defendant "did not deny being involved" after the detective accused him of being guilty was harmless.
