Supreme Court of Illinois

Ford Motor Credit Co. v. Sperry, 98075

In an action to have an attorney fee award declared void ab initio on the theory that the professional service corporation law firm which had represented plaintiff was not registered as required by Supreme Court Rule 721(c), the award is affirmed where Rule 721(c) registration has nothing to do with whether individual attorneys who are members of such firms are authorized or competent to practice law or with the validity of contracts for legal services rendered.
