Supreme Court of Illinois

People v. Breedlove, 96839

In a conviction for first degree murder, appeal seeking a remand so that defendant could receive the admonishments of the new rule and have an opportunity to file a postsentencing motion is denied where the defendant was not entitled to retroactive application of a rule revision which merely provided for admonitions on how to preserve issues, rather than on how to perfect appeals.
