Supreme Court of Illinois
People v. Jones, 96503
In a conviction for attempted first degree murder, dismissal of a pro se postconviction petition is affirmed where: 1) in an appeal from the dismissal of the initial postconviction petition, defendant made allegations for the first time that the admonitions which he received when he pled guilty were inadequate; and 2) the issue of improper admonishments was waived because it was asserted for the first time on appeal and was not included in the original postconviction petition.
