Appellate Court of Illinois
Willis v. Naico Real Estate Prop. and Mgmt. Corp., 1062066
In a landlord-tenant dispute resulting in monetary judgments and award of attorney fees for both plaintiff and defendant, award of attorney fees to landlord-defendant is reversed where Section 5-12-140(f) of the Residential Landlord Tenant Ordinance of the City of Chicago expressly prohibits and makes "unenforceable" any lease provision that requires a tenant to "pay the landlord's attorney fees" in a lawsuit arising out of the tenancy.
