Gehrett v. Chrysler Corp., 2060507

In a suit arising from defendant's lease of an automobile to plaintiff, judgement in favor of plaintiffs is affirmed over claims that: 1) the verdict was against the manifest weight of the evidence; 2) defendant is entitled to a new trial on damages due to multiple claims of error; 3) the trial court erred when it denied defendant's motion for judgment NOV; and 4) the trial court erred when it denied defendant's motion for a new trial. The judgment is modified by the remittitur of punitive damages, and the cause is remanded with instructions to set a date for plaintiffs' consent to the remittitur and to grant a new trial on the issue of punitive damages should plaintiffs not consent to the remittitur.
