Appellate Court of Illinois

People v. Richardson, 1052042

Conviction for first degree murder is reversed and the matter remanded for new trial where the state failed to meet its burden to show that the injuries the 16-year-old defendant received in the lockup were unrelated to his confession, and the use of a coerced confession is never harmless error.
