In a wrongful death action, denial of defendants' posttrial motions requesting a new trial or a judgment notwithstanding the verdict is reversed where, by failing to present sufficient evidence to the court of defendants' breach or proximate cause, plaintiff failed to establish a prima facie case of negligence based on a voluntary assumption of a duty, and defendants were entitled to a directed verdict as a matter of law.
