Matsumoto v. Am. Burial & Cremation Servs., Inc., 2D06-1299
In a suit brought by plaintiff claiming outrageous conduct causing severe emotional distress with respect to defendants-funeral home and individuals' cremation of her deceased father's body, a directed verdict for defendants is affirmed where, as a matter of law, defendants' alleged conduct was not outrageous, and the funeral home satisfied the requirements of Florida Statutes section 470.002(18) in proceeding with the cremation.
