District Court of Appeal of Florida

Garris v. Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Soc'y, 1D05-5811

Dismissal of claims brought against a Humane Society in Georgia arising from its euthanization of two dogs plaintiff left at its facility is reversed where the trial court erred in declining to exercise its general jurisdiction over the Humane Society since defendant's contacts with Florida were continuous, ongoing, and systematic, not isolated, sporadic, or haphazard, and thus there was nothing unforeseeable, unfair, or unjust about requiring it to respond to the process of a Florida court.
