District Court of Appeal of Florida
Stanford v. Stanford, 4D06-96
Denial of a former husband's motion to vacate a final judgment is reversed where it was a manifest abuse of discretion for the trial court to deny the motion when it had issued a pretrial order allowing the husband's lawyer to withdraw and giving him 60 days to obtain new counsel, and then 28 days later proceed to try the case in the absence of the husband or his counsel, entering a final judgment of dissolution of marriage, essentially by default.
