District Court of Appeal of Florida
Gannett Co., Inc. v. Anderson, 05-2179
A judgment awarding plaintiff damages for an alleged invasion of his privacy is reversed where the action was barred by the statute of limitations because plaintiff was claiming that defendants invaded his privacy by publishing facts that portrayed him in a false light, such a claim is not distinguishable in any material respect from a libel claim, and thus, it is subject to the two-year statute of limitations that applies to defamation actions and not the general four-year statute that applies to unspecified torts.
