State of Florida v. Williams, 1D06-1848

The state Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles' petition for certiorari review of an order quashing the suspension of respondent's driver's license for misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) is granted where the circuit court departed from the essential requirements of the law by failing to apply the correct law in its review of the suspension order issued by a hearing officer with regard to the amount of damage implied by the term "traffic crash."
