District Court of Appeal of Florida

Hay v. Hay, 4D04-4734

A judgment awarding a wife one-half of all of the assets titled in either the husband's name or the parties' names jointly, "bridge the gap" alimony, and attorney's fees is reversed in part as to: 1) a portion of the equitable distribution order where the trial court is directed to reconsider its distribution of a few assets; 2) the award of "bridge the gap" alimony, because given the length of the marriage and the substantial assets the wife received, it was an abuse of discretion; and 3) the award of attorney's fees, because the court failed to make Rowe findings.
