In re Commitment of Camper, 2D03-1053
An individual's involuntary civil commitment as a sexually violent predator pursuant to the "Jimmy Ryce Act" is reversed where, at the time of the commitment trial, defendant was mentally incompetent under the standards governing competency in criminal cases, and he was unable to appreciate the nature of the proceedings, to assist his counsel, or to manifest appropriate courtroom behavior.
