District Court of Appeal of Florida

Boone v. State of Florida, 1D04-5316

Convictions on counts relating to sexual misconduct with a minor and an order to undergo medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA) treatment, otherwise known as "chemical castration," are affirmed as to the convictions where, although errors occurred during the guilt phase, the errors were harmless beyond a reasonable doubt. However, the portion of the sentence ordering MPA treatment is reversed where the trial court failed to comply with the mandatory statutory procedures.
