An order by which a trial court treated plaintiff's 42 U.S.C. section 1983 civil rights complaint as a petition for writ of mandamus and denied relief on grounds of mootness is reversed in part as to claims seeking damages in connection with allegations of excessive force by prison guards and indifference to plaintiff's medical needs.
