Supreme Court of California

In re Webb, 247074

Held that courts may impose release conditions on persons who post bail. A defendant who posted bail contended that it was improper to require her to also agree to submit to warrantless searches. However, the California Supreme Court concluded that a trial court does have authority to impose reasonable conditions related to public safety.
