In an automatic appeal of a death sentence for conviction of first degree murder under the special circumstance of murder in the commission of a robbery, attempted premeditated murder and first degree residential robbery, the judgment is affirmed in its entirety over meritless challenges to: 1) the prosecutor's use of peremptory challenges; 2) applicable legal principles; 3) exclusion of a document; 4) admission of a letter for a nonhearsay purpose; 5) exclusion of evidence of the contents of a letter by defendant; 6) the codefendant’s questioning defendant about gang affiliation; 7) claims of instructional error; 8) admission of evidence of the injuries one of defendant’s victims suffered; 9) admission of evidence of defendant's parole history; 10) failure to conduct a hearing on the admissibility of other crimes evidence; and 11) cumulative prejudice.
