Supreme Court of California

Baral v. Schnitt, 225090

In a case to determine how the special motion to strike operates against a so-called 'mixed cause of action' that combines allegations of activity protected by the statute with allegations of unprotected activity, the Court of Appeals' holding that an anti-SLAPP motion must be brought against a mixed cause of action in its entirety is reversed where this application of the anti-SLAPP statute unduly limits the relief contemplated by the Legislature.
