In an automatic appeal, death sentence and conviction of first degree murder, Pen. Code section 187, kidnapping to commit robbery, and first degree robbery, are affirmed over defendant's Eight Amendment claim in light of Jones v. Chappell, and other numerous claims of alleged error in the guilt and penalty phase of his trial.
