Supreme Court of California

People v. Gray, S202483

Defendant's conviction for violating the red light traffic law is affirmed, where: 1) the public announcement and warning requirements that must precede operation of a red light camera, apply to each installation of such a device; but 2) defendant here, however, is not among the class of people that the 30-day period of warning notices was intended to benefit because he was issued a citation 2 years later, and therefore he may not invoke the City's noncompliance with the warning notice requirement to invalidate his traffic citation.
