Section 1747.08 of the Song-Beverly Credit Card Act, which prohibits a retailer from requesting or recording personal identification information as a condition of accepting a credit card as payment, does not apply to online purchases in which the product is downloaded electronically, because this type of transaction does not fit within the statutory scheme.
