People v. Duenas, S182598

Defendant's conviction for first degree murder of a sheriff deupty and sentence of death are affirmed on this automatic appeal where: 1) the trial court did not err in excusal of prospective jurors for cause; 2) trial court did not err in admitting a computer animation illustrating an expert's opinions about the shooting, and even if there was an abuse of discretion in admitting it as evidence, no prejudice could have occurred; 3) defendant's challenges to the jury instructions on aggravating and mitigating factors are without merit; and 4) defendant's challenges to the cumulative guilt phase and penalty phase errors and to the death penalty law are rejected.
