Supreme Court of California
Jacob B. v. County of Shasta, S142496
The litigation privilege of Civil Code section 47(b), which generally protects from tort liability any publication made in connection with a judicial proceeding, protects a letter that a supervisor of a county victim witness program wrote in connection with a family law proceeding that involved visitation rights. Additionally, the privilege protects against a cause of action based on California's constitutional right to privacy.
